Research
Proposal
(no direct points, but
turn-in is required)
Due
date: 09/09/08
This
is a very simple assignment, and it is the only assignment in which students
may use first person pronouns such as: I, me, my.
- Students will turn in
a short proposal, no more than a paragraph, explaining what topic they
have chosen for their annotated bibliography.
- If students wish to
change topics then they must submit a new proposal.
- The research topic
must be approved before students can begin doing research, or it will
negatively impact the course grade.
- If a proposal is
rejected and no new proposal is sent on a timely basis, then it will
negatively affect your participation grade.
- Some
of the topics that I will not approve are as follows: genetic research, gene patenting,
gun control, abortion, same-sex marriage, anorexia, bulimia, euthanasia,
the death penalty, postpartum depression, the dust bowl, smoking, the
Great Plains, xenotransplantation, blood-doping or steroids etc. in
sports, stem cell research, obesity, deforestation, postpartum depression,
cloning, animal rights, experimentation on animals, free Internet
downloads, copyright issues, anything to do with religion/faith, anything
to do with wet/dry campuses; anything to do with raising/lowering the
legal drinking age, anything to do with the legalization of marijuana or
the usefulness of hemp.
- Do not proceed with
your research until your proposal is approved, as it may result in zeroes
on future major projects.
