February 2003: English Discourse - the e-journal, launches its premier issue, vol. 1 no. 1 of English Discourse
in Composition. The issue's theme is Ecology and Conservation: The Great Plains Environment, which will
carry over to the March 2003 premier edition of English Discourse in Research.
The articles, which focus on Frederick Jackson Turner's "The Significance
of the Frontier in American History," and Donald Worster's "Grassland Follies: Agricultural Capitalism on the Great Plains," are argumentative
research papers driven by textual analysis and supporting scholarship.
